˖ ݁♬⋆.˚𝄞 i am a singer/songwriter!!! i love to write and play music but i have a bad habit of only writing sad songs... oops

⠀here are some of my favorite lyrics that i have written and what they mean:

ᯓ★ "i put my feelings on the pyre, they burn so i don't have to feel"

⠀this one is pretty self explanatory. a pyre is a stake at which something burns so putting my feelings up there gets rid of them completely. burning away the things i wanna repress.

ᯓ★ "the horizon promised me what could happen"

the horizon is most watched at night when the sun sets. which brings sleep > which brings dreams, where your mind makes up things and paints you pictures. it means that your dreams show you things that COULD happen and holding on to that can lead you to be left with the feeling of promise.

ᯓ★ "& my walls are much taller than they used to land, & the forefront of my foolproof mind can't be glass"

as i've gotten older, i have closed myself off more. the second part talks about the forefront of my mind, where the most repetitive thoughts live. it is saying that the most guarded people never let themselves get hurt and would rather close off than give someone the opportunity to hurt them.

ᯓ★ "you peek through the window, i'm laying on the lawn"

trying to break that thing or habit that always haunts you by doing what it does to you.
